World war one:
World War One was a conflict between alliances after the assassination of the Arch Duke of Austria Hungary, Franz Ferdinand. Many countries fought in this war making it world wide. A conflict between two countries blew up into something much bigger and much more powerful, creating casualties that could have been avoided. Even though Germany was not the cause of World War I the other countries pinned the starting of the World War. With the punishment of being blamed for the war, Germany had to pay $33 billion in war repairs. The Treaty of Versailles was created to limit the power that Germany had by taking away land, and cutting down their power. All of these factors led to angry Germans and angry dictators. A well known German figure named Adolf Hitler who came into power during the Great Depression felt that Germany was wronged, and he would do anything to help the Germans regain power. Adolf became a fascist, or a person that believed in nationalism and pride in the leader. Nationalism is when a person has pride for one's country. With creating new jobs and creating an organization known as the Nazis, Hitler's pride for his country rose. Hitler began to demand more from other countries. With this demand other countries became scared of the Germans and especially Hitler. When Hitler demanded more land other countries were quick to allow Hitler the land he wanted. Many Germans were fascist meaning that they had pride in their country, but they also had pride in their leader Hitler.
