What has led to international terrorisM against the U.S?
America's support for Israel
One thing that has led to international terrorism against the US is America’s support for Israel. Israel was created after WWII when the Jewish population had been devastated by Hitler’s acts. The other countries felt bad for them and felt that they needed a home. The decided to give the Jews a home in Palestine since they had long desired the land and had strong cultural and religious ties to the area. Also, when Britain had gained Israel after WWI they had promised Palestine to the Jews and Palestinians, but decided to keep it for themselves instead. It made sense for Britain to give it to the Jews when they were in need of a home. A day after the Jews had settled in their new home, almost everyone of their Arab neighbors declared war on them. With most of Europe devastated from the war, Israel turned to America for help. America not only helped Israel win all of its wars, it supplied Israel with nuclear weapons. Anytime a country declared war on Israel, America was there to help. This caused Israel’s neighbors to dislike America for their constant support of a country they wanted to defeat. Israel’s neighboring countries were constantly battling because Israel is holy land to three religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. America also supported the Jews, which made the Muslims who lived in Israel very angry. The Jewish population has helped Americans in many different ways. Therefore the Americans felt like it was right that they helped the Jews get Israel back. Because the Americans have done this for the Jews, many neighboring countries have began to dislike the Americans.
Troops in the middle east
The presence of American troops in Saudi Arabia has caused unrest in neighboring countries, causing them to dislike us. Since the Gulf War in 1991, there has been over 5,000 American troops positioned in Saudi Arabia. Since the current conflict with Iraq, that number has escalated to 10,000. In the future, the US will deploy 4,000 troops into Baghdad to boost security. Because of this constant presence, the Arab countries are becoming upset.
Dictators

Our support of dictators is causing unrest and hatred in Arab countries. We support these dictators and these dictators do horrible things to the people in their country, which makes the people hate us for supporting them. For example, the Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak had been in power for over 30 years and was a strong Western ally. He rigged the voting so he was always re-elected president. He was accused of killing anti-government protesters and was put on trial. He was arrested and imprisoned, placed under house arrest, and has been in custody since April 2011.
